The Pleiades, or "Seven Sisters" is not actually a constellation but rather the brightest open star cluster in the night sky, located within the constellation Taurus. The Greeks considered the Pleiades to be seven sisters who had been immortalized in the stars, and nearly every ancient culture has their own mythology surrounding this brilliant sky object.
The pendant is small-batch cast from pewter and has been hand hammered and weathered for an antique look. The seven sisters and surrounding stars are accurately placed, based on star maps, and are cut all the way through the pendant, down to the smallest magnitude we could manage. The back features the right ascension and declination, reversed to match the stars. As far as we know, this is the only constellation pendant in the world designed to this level of astronomical accuracy. The pendant measures 3cm in diameter and comes on your choice of a steel snake chain and an adjustable black leather cord.
